Distance Learning

Distance Learning

Distance learning, sometimes known as home study, allows you to work through a course at your own pace and in your own time. Distance learning courses may be:

  • supplied in a postal format, so course materials and books are sent out to you through the post. You work through at your own pace and usually submit assignments back to your tutor by post.
  • supplied online – either in an online learning environment or by pdf files directly to your inbox. Students increasingly prefer this option as it means they can begin studying right away. Assignments are either submitted through an online portal or directly by email to the tutor.
  • Some distance learning providers use a combination of these approaches.
